BRADSHAW — An overnight shelter has been opened in McDowell County for those remaining without power.
A cooling station and shelter for residents will open at Riverview High School in Bradshaw at 8 p.m. this evening. The shelter will be providing showers in addition to shelter.
The only shelters operating as cooling stations in the county are at Riverview High School and the Five Loaves and Two Fishes Food Pantry in Kimball. Water is also being provided at the food pantry.
War man charged with murder
A bond hearing was scheduled Monday in McDowell County Circuit Court for a War resident soon after he was charged with first-degree murder in the death of a local man.
