WELCH —
Starting Saturday, disaster relief centers in McDowell County and other counties included in a recent disaster declaration will be closed on weekends, official s with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today.
The centers will remain open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. In McDowell County, the center is located in the Welch National Guard Armory. Another center is at the Hanover Head Start Center in neighboring Wyoming County.
