PRINCETON —
A former employee of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department has been indicted by the Mercer County Grand Jury on charges of embezzlement.
Charlotte Harvey, 54, no address given, was indicted on two charges of embezzlement, said Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ash. Each charge carries a potential penalty of one to 10 years in prison.
Approximately $16,000 was found missing from from the sheriff’s department between 2006 to 2011, Ash said.
Ash said Harvey is no longer with the sheriff’s department.

War mayor’s death: Click trial continued
The trial of Earl Click, the man who was charged along with his sister, Rebecca Lynn Hatcher, with the July 17, 2012 murder of Dr. Thomas Hatcher, mayor of War, has been continued according to the McDowell County prosecuting attorney’s office. The trial had been scheduled to start on Monday.
