YUKON —
A McDowell County woman was arrested early Friday morning on several domestic violence charges related to a stabbing incident at a Yukon area residence.
Myrtle Perkins, 39, of War is charged with domestic assault, domestic battery, brandishing, malicious wounding and assault during the commission of a felony. The charges stem from the alleged stabbing of her husband, Thomas Perkins, 31, of Warriormine, according to an incident report filed by investigating troopers of the Welch Detachment of the West Virginia State Police.
Senior Trooper J.W. Keffer and Trooper M.A. Shrewsbury were dispatched to the residence near Yukon in the “early morning hours” of Friday, according to a press release on the incident. The victim suffered knife wounds to his left thigh, his abdomen and his left wrist. Mr. Perkins was transported to Charleston Area Medical Center for treatment.
The troopers located Mrs. Perkins at the residence and placed her under arrest. The case remains under investigation, according to Shrewsbury.
