AFTERNOON UPDATE — Hundreds attend Tazewell festival

TAZEWELL, Va. — Main Street was closed, but the heart of downtown Tazewell was open for business as hundreds of people swamped the downtown for the final day of the 20th Annual Main Street Heritage Festival.

“It’s good,” Mary Green of North Tazewell, Va., said as she and her granddaughter Patricia Herald of Tazewell, walked up the middle of Main Street, pausing to look at the goods and services provided by the vendors who lines both side of the street.

“I hardly ever miss this festival,” Green said. “It’s always a lot of fun and there are a lot of things to see and do.”
