BLUEFIELD — CHARLESTON – A bill that would pull an extra 5 percent of coal severance tax out of the state’s general fund and send it to the county of coal origin is now awaiting Gov. Joe Manchin’s signature.
Under the bill, McDowell County would receive $500,000 and Mercer County would receive $5,000.
