— The 2010 session of the Virginia General Assembly is scheduled to come to an end Saturday night, but if recent history is any indication of how it may all play out, legislators may need to pack an extra change of socks for the weekend.
State Senator Phillip P. Puckett, D-Russell said that he spoke with State Senator William C. Wampler, R-Bristol after the floor session ended Friday afternoon, and according to Puckett, Wampler said budget conferees are making some progress, but not on the major issues that divides opinion between the two chambers of state government.
“If they get something together, they may hold us here late Saturday night, but it takes 12 hours to print the thing after they come to an agreement,” Puckett said.
