I just wanted to thank West Virginia for not voting for Obama. Even though he got back in (office) it wasn't from our state.
We tried to stand up for what we believe in, but it didn't seem to work. And now that he got back in the White House — what is he going to do for us? Nothing.
He said that he was going to sign the clean air bill after Thanksgiving and if he does then you know that means our coal will be gone, and not only our coal companies, but it also affects our machine shops and a lot more companies. It’s not just the coal mines but everything.
Another thing now, is Manchin, Rahall, Rockefeller going to be for us? I doubt it. They are where they want to be now and it is doubtful they will help us at all.
Just take a look at our coal miners and machine shops — they are laying off or shutting down. Who’s going to help us? Our pension checks are already in danger. After that then what will they take?
My husband died working in the coal mines and I had three sons and two son-in-laws who worked in the mines. Now they have to worry if they will be getting a check or not. They always put West Virginia down, but we are just as good as any other state.
At least we are a proud state. I am an 86-year-old woman who has been in West Virginia all my life and will wait until the lord takes me home.
Again thanks to our state for standing up for what they believe in — God, coal and West Virginia.
