I think that it is time for our Congressman Morgan Griffith, R-Va., to heed the mandate of the voters in the last presidential election and go along with the Obama economic agenda.
I fully understand concerns about the federal budget deficit but now is not the time to enact draconian budget cuts spelled out in what has come to be known as sequestarian.
While we cannot spend our way to prosperity we also cannot budget cut our way either.
I think that our president seeks a fair balance between new revenue and budget cuts.
As I see it, everybody wants to enjoy the services that big government provides but nobody wants to pay the price in taxes.
Consequently, we must borrow budget shortfalls from China.
If you think about it, tax cuts like we have seen in the past are simply spending in disguise.
The time for political games and brinkmanship is over. The Tea Party is already responsible for our credit rating being lowered by their obstructionist votes. The time for your face politics is over.
The market for local coal will only rebound if the overall economy rebounds. I believe that the economic policies of our president are fair and sound.
