As energy consumption in the Commonwealth continues to increase, we need to focus on responsible methods to meet this increasing demand.
There is no doubt that all of us want a cleaner environment. The question is: how do we get there while continuing to utilize the energy we extract from the hills of Southwest Virginia?
Promoting wind energy is just good business and will strengthen and diversify our economy.
Coal and wind energy are complementary energy resources. Wind is a useful and growing backup to traditional energy sources, but we must continue to utilize our extractable energy resources.
We need the jobs, Virginia needs the electricity, and America needs the security of home grown energy.
