Boy am I glad that the Daily Telegraph takes handwritten letters to the editor. I cannot afford to have a computer at this time in my seasonal Virginia home. It sounds like I have more in my budget because of having the blessing to own a “seasonal home.” The house is almost 90 years old and needs lost of work — however I manage to budget my retirement check fairly well.
It is very sad that people on Social Security will not get a cost-of-living increase for the next two years. Sad, sad, sad. Gas just went up from $2.48 to $2.58 in the Tazewell County area, since last Thursday. Do the people in Washington, D.C., realize the cost of coffee, milk, bread and toilet paper?
The AIG people, Citibank, the auto industry — these people were helped out very quickly. So what is the big deal about the people on Wall Street getting no bonuses — boo-hoo to them.
It is a shame that so many people on Main Street America aren’t speaking up. Well, I’m going to speak up — the Bill of Rights points out the right to discuss problems with the government.
