Took my great granddaughter to Kee Dam recently to feed the geese. When we got there she commented that the place was so littered with trash, and she thought we should get to work and clean it up, after all other people would see this.
We returned later with a large trash bag and filled the bag to the max with all sorts of trash, and could have still filled another of that size if we had it, because the litter was terrible. A 6-year-old can recognize the devastation that litter does, then why can’t adults see the ugliness they cause by throwing trash everywhere?
I am so proud of my granddaughter for having the desire to help keep Mercer County clean so everyone can enjoy our beautiful state. Next time, whoever you are, when you get ready to throw your garbage on the ground or in the lake that little eyes see this mess and wonder why anyone would do this.
