A local television station recently had a commentary regarding banks charging extra fees for certain paperwork issued to the customer that has so much fine print that it would require a Philadelphia lawyer to even attempt to understand all of the whereas, ifs, ands or buts.
If and when they’re asked to explain they say “it’s the law.” My comment is bull! Some of these banks (not all) make John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Bonnie and Clyde seem like refugees from a Campfire Girls outing.
When the notorious bank robber Willie Sutton was asked why he robbed banks, he replied, “that’s where the money is.” He was right, that is where it is and they are trying to get and keep it all.
In my opinion those that participate in this style of illicit activity should be investigated and criminally charged.
Again, I realize that not all banks are involved in this.
