I was born and raised in Bluefield. I have spent my entire life with nothing but praise and admiration for the town I was raised in. My education at Bluefield High School and my sports training playing for the Beavers really allowed me to compete in college and throughout life.
My mom died three years ago and I purchased her house from the estate, thinking I would include a month in the summer in my retirement plans. Now, each time I come back, I wonder what the hell is going on. From an outsider it seems to me the death of Bluefield is very much on the horizon.
Why isn’t the beauty of the area recognized and promoted? Isn’t there an economic develop effort? Are the landed gentry satisfied with the status quo? Is there just a total lack of vision and leadership? Would you please tell me.
