I would like to respond to (Scripp’s Howard News Service columnist) Deroy Murdock’s statement on Dec. 18 — that President Obama was lying about the top one percent not paying their share of taxes.
It seems strange to me if Mr. Warren Buffett — who makes as much as any of the other two percenters — states that he pays less taxes than his secretary does.
Then the two percent states that they pay for all the jobs for the working people. Most of these two percenters send all their money to the Cayman Islands or Swiss banks to keep from paying any tax — like Mr. Romney — then refuses to show his tax returns. I say that Mr. Murdock owes the president an apology.
