In 1988 Karl Miller and your Senior reporter, Bill Archer, combined their musical talents to write songs for Bramwell’s 100th celebration. One song remains a popular closing tune for Miller and Archer when they perform. This week the Bramwell Theatre Corporation sponsored the 29th Christmas Tour of Homes and this song seems appropriate to express our thanks and appreciation to the many people who made the tour a success. Great paragraphs could be written to show our gratitude to those who worked the tour. But as the Miller/Archer song states ... “Thanks is all there is ...”
Those who worked tirelessly for the December 8th tour are the following: Mayor Louise Stoker; Poiice Chief Edwin Vanover; Bramwell Volunteer Fire Department members Chief Joe Miller, Wes Bailey, Everett Perry, Joe Belcher and Raymond Perkins. The Coal Heritage Highway Authority at the Bramwell Depot with Richard Bullins, Mary Shandor, Kate Cardwell, Ken and Betty Kirby, and Donnie Goins. Elsewhere were Jon Brannon, Judie Marcum-Holley, Jim Macomber, Barbara Reichard, Annette Petrilas, Alan Miller, Julie Lockart, Donnie Rogers, Donald Hall, and Marie Blackwell, executive director of the Mercer County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Others who assisted were The Deliverance Temple Choir, Lonnie Snell, Jim and Joyce Bishop, Beverly Wellman, Shirley Guy, Sharon and Tucker Workman, Bobbie Casey, Skip Crane, Jeff Vance, Wilma Hatcher, Tim and Marsha Kanode, Colten Kanode, Vickie Rushbrook, Kaelyn Workman, Harold and Rhonda Brown, Hal Gusler, Gary and Aubrey Overton, Katelyn Goins, Autumn Spangler, Andrea Miller, Cameron Clement, Robert Davis, Aaron Isbell, Sandy Flanagan, Marty Chaffins, Nancy Bogle, Brooklyn and Raven Davis, Betty Davis, John and Donna Husband, Bill and Elizabeth Allemeier, Haley Hancock, Whitney Browning, Nicole Blevins, Michael Booker, Rebecca Allen, Scott and Drearna Spangler, Bonnie Goins, Vicie Haywood, Fran Wolford, Pearl Dawsor, Robin Vanover and Doris Perkins.
We would also like to thank The Bluefield Daily Telegraph.
And on behalf of the Bramwell Theatre Corporation ...
“Thanks is all there is.”
