McDowell similar to other counties

In reference to a recent letter written by a Princeton resident, I would like her to know that the people of McDowell County resent the remarks made by her.

I do understand that she said she was elderly and I respect that, but I want her to also respect the feelings of people from McDowell County. You cannot judge everyone by one person. I feel that right now the letter was politically motivated.

I want people to know that McDowell County is no different that Mercer County and other counties. In Mercer and McDowell and other counties, there are people who work and some don’t; some get a check, some don’t; and some are on drugs and some are not. You cannot judge McDowell County because your county is the same.

So, to get the information right, your county is not better than our county. Yes, I work a full-time job here in McDowell County and so do a lot of other people.

Just to let you know, I am a Democrat, and that is my business and no one else’s. I will vote for who I see fit, and nothing you can say will change that. Hope to see everyone out at the polls.
