On September 9, 2012, my father (Elton Simpkins) and I was delighted to be part of the “Tribute to First Responders,” at the Bluefield Elks Club. The event was a magnificent display of the feelings of the local bi-state citizens, and the committee who planned and sponsored as part of the Elks this wonderful tribute. After the State Police of West Virginia’s horrific tragedy just two weeks ago I feel it is a reminder that we all will just never realize what our fire responders do and will do for our citizens and country.
To all whom planned, attended or responds when called … God Bless the United States and our Peace Time Heroes!
