Va public hearing set on I-95 toll plan

SUSSEX, Va. — Opponents of Virginia’s proposal to use toll revenue to improve Interstate 95 plan to rally outside a public hearing.

The rally is set for Monday night at Sussex High School before the hearing. Among the scheduled speakers at the rally are the mayors of Emporia and Stony Creek and state Del. Roslyn Tyler, D-Greensville.

The Federal Highway Administration is reviewing the state’s application to place tolls on I-95.

Other hearings to give the public an update on the proposal are scheduled for Wednesday night in Chester and Dec. 17 in Fredericksburg.
