Mercer man pleads guilty to second-degree murder in 2011 homicide case

PRINCETON — A suspect facing first-degree murder in the death of a Mercer County man agreed this afternoon to plead guilty to second-degree murder.

Thomas Tyler Hall, 37, of Princeton had been charged in the March 13, 2011 death of Timothy DeWitt, 41, of Princeton. DeWitt’s body was located by bridge workers performing maintenance off of Eads Mill Road near the Bluestone Falls area.

According to Hall’s defense attorney Mark Wills, a plea hearing was set for March 4 for Mercer County Circuit Court Judge William Sadler. Second-degree murder carries a sentence of 10 to 40 years in prison, Wills said.
