9 arrested in Greenbrier drug roundup

A warrant sweep prompted by drug indictments that were handed up Tuesday netted nine arrests, according to Greenbrier County Sheriff Jim Childers.

According to the Sheriff, a Greenbrier County Grand Jury indicted 15 people on 35 charges connected to drug-related crimes. All of the indictments — which are formal charges, not determinations of guilt — were based on the testimony of officers with the Sheriff’s Department’s Narcotics Unit.

Childers said the indictments were the culmination of “several months of investigations conducted by the Narcotics Unit.”

Those arrested during Tuesday evening’s sweep, along with the charges they face, are:

- William Demar “Bill” Moore, 32, of Lewisburg: four counts of delivery of cocaine; one count of conspiracy to deliver cocaine

- Kendra Raye Preston, 22, of Second Creek: two counts of delivery of oxycodone

- Gary Joe Flora, 33, of White Sulphur Springs: one count of delivery of oxycodone; two counts of delivery of hydrocodone

- Anthony Gereld Loudermilk, 28, of Frankford: one count of delivery of hydrocodone; one count of delivery of methylphenidate; one count of conspiracy to deliver hydrocodone

- Shawn Michael Quick, 36, of Lewisburg: one count of delivery of morphine; two counts of delivery of oxycodone

- Brian Keith “Snuffy” Brown, 46, of Maxwelton: two counts of delivery of oxycodone; one count of delivery of hydrocodone

- Melvin Arnold Treadway, 31, of Rupert: one count of delivery of oxycodone; one count of delivery of clonezepam

- William Wallace Hayes, 36, of Layland: two counts of delivery of oxymorphone (Opana)

- Natasha Elynn Simmons, 20, of Rainelle: one count of delivery of hydrocodone within 1,000 feet of a school

The arrest sweep was conducted by members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department, along with members of the Lewisburg Police Department, White Sulphur Springs Police Department, Rainelle Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service’s CUFF Task Force.

Additional arrests are expected.
