BLUEFIELD —
The Frank Easley Bridge over U.S. Route 52 in Bluefield has been shut down to traffic temporarily as crews work to clear a three-car accident.
One person was transported to Bluefield Regional Medical Center by the Bluefield Rescue Squad following the 4:10 p.m. accident, according to Patrolman N.J.W. Allen with the Bluefield Police Department. Allen said winter weather has not been ruled out as a factor in the accident.
The bridge was closed at the intersection of 52 and the entrance to Bluefield State College and at the intersection at Highland Avenue as crews worked to clear the scene. Traffic was backed up to Bluefield Regional Medical Center as a result of the wreck.
