Murder suspect hangs himself in Bluefield City Jail

BLUEFIELD —  A man charged in connection with a Bluefield murder has committed suicide.

Donald Adams, 54, of Bluefield, who was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of John Watkins, apparently hung himself Wednesday at the city jail in Bluefield, according to Cpl. A.P. Christian of the West Virginia State Police.

State police confirm he hung himself with shoe strings.
