Woman, small child, transported to hospital after vehicle goes under water in Princeton

PRINCETON — A woman and boy were rescued from their SUV after it entered a creek along the Grant’s Supermarket parking lot at the Athens Cross Road in Princeton this evening.

Lt. Keith Gunnoe of the Princeton Fire Department said the car went into the water and floated 250 yards downstream until it got stuck under a bridge at the intersection. The boy and woman were transported to Princeton Community Hospital for evaluation, Gunnoe said.

Flooding is causing high water in the area at this time.

More details to come.
