Two Mountaineers are Big 12 players of the week

— Two West Virginia Mountaineers were honored Monday by the Big 12 Conference after WVU’s win over Texas on Saturday.

Sophomore running back Andrew Buie is offensive player of the week after registering 281 all-purpose yards, including 207 rushing yards on 31 carries. He averaged 6.7 yards per touch and picked up first downs on eight of his runs.



Senior Tavon Austin is special teams player of the week. He averaged 37 yards on his three kickoff returns. His 44-yard return of the opening kick set up WVU’s first touchdown, and he later had a season-long 67-yard gallop.
