Albarran first Mid-South player of week for BC

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Erik Albarran has become the first Bluefield College student-athlete to make player of the week in the Rams’ new league, the Mid-South Conference. The freshman midfielder received the weekly honor in men’s soccer, the league announced on Monday.

He scored four goals in two wins to help Bluefield attain a three-match win streak. He got his first collegiate hat trick in a come-from-behind 6-4 win over Pikeville. He had the only goal in BC’s 1-0 match with St. Catharine College on Saturday.

His 12 goals ranks 23rd in the NAIA this season, and he has three game-winning goals.
