Marshall men stop BC, Lady Lions close to Lady Herd

HUNTINGTON — The Marshall Thundering Herd men's basketball team defeated Bluefield College 94-67 in an exhibition for both teams on Thursday night.

 Elijah Pittman led Marshall with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Bluefield was paced by Kearston Marion with 18 points.

 Bluefield will open its regular season on Saturday against Virginia University of Lynchburg at the Dome Gymnasium at 4 p.m.

Marshall 84, Concord 71

HUNTINGTON — Orlandia Williams scored 15 points to lead the Thundering Herd to an exhibition win over Concord.

 Concord was led with 20 points each from Andrea Bertrand and Rachel Artrip.
