Tesla Akers to play in D-3 tournament

FERRUM, Va. — Former Princeton standout Tesla Akers will conclude her career at Ferrum College by playing in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Ferrum (24-4), which lost to Christopher Newport in the USA South finals last weekend, received an at-large bid will play Great South champion Huntington (17-9) on Friday at Emory University in Atlanta.

Emory (22-6) and Whitworth (21-6) are also part of the four-team region.

Akers is averaging 12.6 points a game for the Panthers, who are making their second straight trip to the NCAAs.
