Lions sweep Rams

ATHENS — Sarah Jones led Concord with 15 kills, as the Mountain Lions defeated Bluefield College 25-14, 25-19, 25-18 on Wednesday night at the Carter Center.

It was Concord’s third straight win, with the Mountain Lions improving to 11-12. Bluefield dropped to 11-14.

Jasmin Sutherland added nine kills for Concord, while Kylie Perdue added six kills and Allie Pennington contributed five digs and three aces. Amanda Walker dished out 16 assists, while Nikki McMillian had 13 assists.

Concord will take its three-match winning streak on the road for seven straight games, beginning on Oct. 20 against Virginia Union and Lock Haven in Pennsylvania.

Bluefield will play Kentucky schools St. Catharine’s, Cumberland and Georgetown this weekend at UVa-Wise.
