Smith leads Lady Lions past Seton Hill

GREENSBURG, Pa. — Princeton product Amanda Smith scoerd 20 points and Honaker’s Rachel Artrip added 19, leading Concord’s Lady Lions to an 85-70 West Virginia Conference win at Seton Hill on Saturday.

Concord, which snapped a three-game losing streak, shot 50.8 percent from the field, taking a 20-point lead at halftime.

Jacqueline Kestner added 15 points and 12 rebounds for Concord, while Summers County’s Leslie Mack and Tanisha Williams tallied 11 apiece. Smith also contributed seven rebounds and three steals.

Kelly Brennan led the Griffins (10-9, 7-6) with 19 points, while Katie Gattuso added 18 points and 12 boards.

Concord (5-12, 4-7) will host first place Glenville State on Monday.



College Men

Seton Hill 68, Concord 56

GREENSBURG, Pa. — Mike Boyd led Concord with 12 points, but the Mountain Lions dropped a WVIAC decision to the Griffins.

Malachi Leonard led Seton Hill (10-8, 7-7) with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Nate Perry tallied 15 points.

Boyd was complemented by Nick Ruffin with 10 points and eight boards, while Cam Shannon scored eight points and Damien Tunstalle added seven.

Concord (9-6, 5-6) will seek to snap its two-game losing skid by hosting will Glenville State on Monday.
