Concord gets votes in AFCA poll

WACO, Texas — The Concord University Mountain Lions received nine points, tying for 43rd place, in balloting for the NCAA Division II preseason football poll of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) released on Monday. Shepherd is 19th in the poll, and West Virginia Wesleyan also received votes. The top spot went to the Pittsburg (Kan.) State Gorillas, who won the D-2 national championship last season.
