Murray leads WVU by Oakland

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia’s Aaric Murray came back from a one-game suspension with a double-double Wednesday night as the Mountaineers defeated Oakland 76-71 to end a two-game losing streak.

Murray, who was left home for disciplinary reasons from the Mountaineers’ 81-66 loss to No. 2 Michigan last Saturday in Brooklyn, N.Y., came back to score 12 points, pull down 10 rebounds and block five shots.

Juwan Staten added 11 points for the Mountaineers (5-5), and Keaton Miles and Terry Henderson pitched in 10 apiece.

West Virginia’s victory ruined an outstanding night by Travis Bader, who led the nation in 3-pointers made with 42 entering the game. He finished with a game-high 25 points, including 6 of 12 from beyond the line.

Oakland (4-8) has played BCS schools Pittsburgh, Michigan State, Tennessee and West Virginia on the road this season and lost to all four.
