WVU football drops in major polls

— West Virginia University football fell out of the top 10 in both major polls on Sunday, after taking their first loss of the season, 49-14 to Texas Tech, on Saturday.

The Mountaineers landed 17th in the new Associated Press Top 25 poll, down from fifth last Sunday. In both the USA Today coaches poll and the Harris Interactive list, WVU fell from No. 4 to No. 15.

The first BCS standings are scheduled to be released at 8:45 p.m. on Sunday.
