GRUNDY, Va. — The death of a Grundy man is being investigated as a homicide, police said Monday.
Buchanan County Sheriff Ray Foster said the sheriff’s department responded to a call for assistance Saturday at 5:30 a.m. in the Leetown section of Buchanan County. When deputies arrived, Gregory Allen Brown, 43, was found deceased at a residence in the community.
Foster said Brown’s body was sent Monday to the medical examiner’s office in Roanoke to determine an official cause of death.
“The investigation is continuing, and is being worked as a homicide,” Foster said. “Charges are pending.”
Foster said several individuals were at the residence Saturday morning where Brown was found dead. Foster said investigators with the sheriff’s department are talking to everyone who was at the residence.
Foster said deputies are investigating the man’s death as a homicide because of the way his body was found at the residence.
Foster said he couldn’t release any additional details regarding the investigation at this time.
Foster said he expects the medical report to be back from Roanoke later this week.
