Play at the plate is a winner

PIOPOLIS, Ill. — The play at the plate, some would say, was a game winner.

There were two outs and the game was almost over when a member of the White Oak Resources team, Joey Ullery, called timeout.

Up to bat came Casey Cunningham, and after calling timeout, Ullery knelt down on one knee at home plate, then pulled out a ring and asked Casey to marry him. She said yes, and the game continued as Casey hit a shot to the infield and was thrown out at first, ending the game.

Adam Birkner’s team picked up the first-place trophy at the tourney, but there's no doubt about what was the play of the game.
