Police nab nude man in stolen car

LEBANON, Ind. —

A guilty conscience may have gotten the best – and worst – of an Indiana man.

The strange turn of events began to unfold when police were sent to a home to serve a civil paper on the resident. At that time, Deputy Jesse Boggs saw a nude male jump from a second floor window two houses away.

Officers converged on the neighborhood to investigate the odd occurrence, but couldn’t find the naked man.

Later, family members identified the suspect, who police say took a neighbor’s car and escaped.

Apparently, John Baldwin Jr., 24, thought police were about to serve him with an arrest warrant.

However, police said there was no outstanding warrant for Baldwin. The nude man was arrested by police in the stolen car about an hour later.

“(He) apparently had a guilty conscience,” Lebanon Police Lt. Brent Wheat said.
