Blue-nose pit bull stolen in house break-in

HAVERHILL, Mass. - An unlikely combination of items were stolen Tuesday in a house break: a six-pack of Corona, two pairs of Nike sneakers and a "blue nose" pit bull puppy.

The beer was valued at $8, the sneakers at $200 and the pit bull at $500.

Police said the thieves may have thought the pit bull, with its bluish nose and coat, was far more valuable.

Dog experts said while some breeders would like people to think that blue nose pit bulls are worth more money, that isn't the case.

They said the only thing different about a blue nose is coloring.

The dog's owner said he was more concerned about the fate of the dog than any financial loss.
