CHARLESTON — Sharon Walden has been selected to be inducted into the 2009 WV Affordable Housing Hall of Fame.
She is being recognized for her many years of commitment and dedication to affordable housing and homelessness in West Virginia. She is a McDowell County resident and currently serves as the Executive Director of Stop Abusive Family Environments Inc., (SAFE), SAFE Housing and Economic Development (SHED), operates a home repair program, and is also the Executive Director of Travel Beautiful Appalachia, Inc.
She will be recognized at a dinner and ceremony held in her honor on Thursday, May 7, in the ballroom of Tamarack, Beckley beginning at 6 p.m.
