One dead following single-vehicle accident in Mercer County

PRINCETON — One person is dead following a single-vehicle accident in Mercer County.

The crash occurred near Gardner Road in Princeton. A single occupant in the vehicle died at the scene of the accident, according to Cpl. A.P. Christian, of the West Virginia State Police Princeton Detachment.

Christian said the vehicle went off the road, traveled off the road for about 50 to 60 yards, and then struck a large rock that caused the vehicle to flip. The vehicle came to a rest in the southbound lane.

The Princeton Rescue Squad, East River Volunteer Fire Department and Mercer County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the crash.
