Authorities in McDowell County take down a suspected meth lab

WELCH — Police in McDowell County are investigating a suspected meth lab.

This afternoon at approximately 12 p.m. the McDowell County Sheriff’s Department working in cooperation with the Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task executed a search warrant on a suspected meth lab in the War area of McDowell County, according to a statement by Sheriff Martin West.

West said one arrest has been reported. The incident is still under investigation.

Further details are expected to be released by West regarding the investigation later today.
