Two men in McDowell County were arrested this morning on charges of operating a meth lab, according to Sheriff Martin B. West.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., the War Police Department responded to a residence at Juniorpoka Hill. Upon arrival, the officers found a working meth lab. The officers then requested assistance from the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office then made contact with the Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force.
West said Timothy Stone, age unavailable, of War, was arrested and charged with one count of operating a meth lab, child neglect creating risk of injury and felony conspiracy. A second man, Thomas Perkins, age unavailable of War, was arrested and charged with one count of operating a meth lab and one count of felony conspiracy.
“Meth is a very dangerous and volatile drug,” West said. “We want to pursue every lead hoping we can resolve the problem. I made a promise to the people of McDowell County to work on drugs, and I intend to keep it.”
