Shooting reported in McDowell County, one person being airlifted from scene

IAEGER —  The West Virginia State Police are responding to a shooting incident that occurred in the Bull Creek area of McDowell County.

An unidentified individual is being transported by the McDowell County Ambulance Authority from the scene to a landing zone being set up in the Red Barn area outside of Roderfield, according to dispatchers with McDowell County 911. A helicopter from Charleston Area Medical Center has been dispatched to transport the victim to a local hospital.

The West Virginia State Police Welch Detachment are investigating the shooting incident, which occurred around 3:50 p.m.
