Joe Larkin

PRINCETON — Joe Larkin, 97, of 913 Oakvale Road in Princeton, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born August 25, 1912 in Kimball, W.Va., he was the son of the late Giovanni (Lagana) Larkin and Concetta Zucco Larkin. He retired as a foreman with Corte Construction Co. after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Princeton and had been a resident of Princeton since 1970, moving here from Kimball. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Joe worked hard his entire life and was very dedicated to his family. On January 19, 2010, Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Fredia Maxine Self Larkin. Four brothers, Phillip, Jim, Tony and Charlie Larkin; and four sisters, Angeline Romeo, Mary Larkin, Mally Martini and Phyllis Novince also preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, John Carl Larkin, Sr. and wife Laura and Dr. David Joseph Larkin, Sr. and wife Sharon, all of Princeton; two grandsons, John C. Larkin, Jr. and David J. Larkin, Jr.; two granddaughters, Regina Larkin and Nicole Larkin; two great-grandsons, R.J. Cline and Anthony Larkin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Princeton with Father Paul Wharton as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Larkin, Phillip Larkin, Nick Larkin, Robert Faulds, Robbie Faulds, and Tony Mack Larkin. Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 (today) with the Christian Wake Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent at www.seaverfuneralservice.com
