Mrs. Hazel Elizabeth Wriston West

RICHLANDS, Va. — Mrs. Hazel Elizabeth Wriston West, age 98, of Richlands, Va., passed away Friday February 5, 2010 in a Richlands, Va. hospital.

Born on February 18, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Jim Wriston and Sally Wriston Lowe. Hazel with her husband owned and operated Bills Grocery at Seaboard, Va. for over 30 Years. Hazel was of the Pentecostal faith and loved the Lord. She loved to cook, sew and holidays.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. (Bill) West; three brothers, Danial Lowe, Doak E. Lowe, Jr. and Oliver Wriston; three sisters, Juanita Russell, Ruth Winko and Katherine Wilson.

She leaves behind three children that she loved with all her heart, Jacqueline West Vencill and husband Robert of Richlands, Va., Roy L. West and wife Faye of Claypool Hill, Va., and Joanne Powers and husband Eddie of Bristol, Va.; four grandchildren, Steve Vencill and wife Patty, Kip Shrader and wife Laura, Greg West and wife Martha, and Gina West Brown and husband Jody; six great-grandchildren, Benjamin Vencill and wife Jennifer, Lindsey Hope Vencill, Sydney Robinett, Hudson Brown, Alecia Shrader and Cody Shrader; one precious sister, Sadie Fox of Richlands, Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel West will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday February 8, 2010 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Va. with the Reverend Bob Osborne and the Reverend Ralph Horton officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Va. from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday.
