Beulah Virginia Lockhart

TAZEWELL, Va. — Beulah Virginia Lockhart, age 79, of the Witten Valley community in Tazewell, Va., died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tenn. Born October 30, 1930 in Tazewell, Va., she was a daughter of the late Walter G. Peery and Vera Vencill Peery. She was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church. Mrs. Lockhart was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Ellen Howery; two brothers, George C. Peery and Clarence Peery; and a great-grandchild, Chance Mullins.

Survivors include her husband, Ishmel Lockhart; three daughters, Virginia L. Nelson and husband, Jerry of Tazewell, Va., Juanita L. Moore and husband, Tom of Hillsborough, N.C., and Shirley Phillips and husband, Danny of Tazewell, Va.; one brother, Glen Peery of Bluefield, Va.; two sisters, Nell Elswick and Nannie White, both of Tazewell, Va.; five grandchildren, Jamie Reedy, T.J. Moore, Meagan Mullins, Ben Moore, and Sidney Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Braxton Reedy, Chace Reedy, and Blake Reedy; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with the Rev. Jim Denton and the Rev. Barry Absher officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2010.
