Bryan Anthony Boyd

RAVEN, Va. — Bryan Anthony Boyd, age 27, of Raven, Va., passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 following a short illness. Born November 1, 1982 in Bluefield, W.Va., he was the son of Joe and Diana Hylton Boyd of Raven, Va. He graduated high school in 2000 as valedictorian of his class. He graduated from Southwest Virginia Community College in 2004 as a Radiology Technician. He worked at Bristol Regional Medical Center and Holston Valley Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Elmer Hylton and Walter Boyd.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Sonyea Boyd of Raven, Va.; his grandmothers, Ruby Hylton of Pounding Mill, Va. and Mable Boyd of Fork Ridge, Va.; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2010 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Va. with the Rev. Jim Richardson, the Rev. Mike Altizer, the Rev. Randy Webb and the Rev. Barry Absher officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be J.R. Absher, Buford Davis, Charlie Absher, Charlie Absher, II, Jordan Horne and Ethan Horne.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Va.
