Mr. Robert E. “Bob” Bragg

YANCEYVILLE, N.C. — Mr. Robert E. “Bob” Bragg, 81, of 2446 Cherry Grove Rd., Yanceyville, N.C., died Saturday, December 26, 2009, at Terry Care Home.

A native of Cedar Bluff, Va., he was the husband of Vida Wilson Bragg and son of the late Walter W. and Myrtle Smith Bragg. He was retired from Burlington Parks & Recreation after 21 years of service, a U.S. Army Veteran, attended Davis Street United Methodist Church, was active with the Boy Scouts for many years, helped with the Police Club BBQ, former member of the V. F. W. and Burlington Moose Lodge.

Surviving other than his wife of Burlington are three sons, Stan Bragg of Casper, Wyo., Rick Bragg and wife Dee of Elon, and Bob Bragg of Jupiter, Fla.; three sisters, Evelyn B. Altizer of Claypool Hill, Va., Jean B. Bogar of Jeffersonville, Ky. and Mozelle B. Flannery of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Donald Bragg and wife Sharon of Princeton, Ky.; six grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wade Bragg.

Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29 at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington, N.C. with Dr. Alan Sasser officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington, N.C. from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening.
