TAZEWELL, Va. — Hubert Talmadge Sexton, age 72, of Tazewell, Va., died Friday, December 25, 2009 at his home. Born November 12, 1937 at Whitesburg, Ky., he was a son of the late Arlan Sexton and Nannie Belle Sexton. Mr. Sexton was a minister for fifty years and was a member of the Living Waters Church of God in Baptist Valley, Va. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved nature. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Ellis Sexton.
Survivors include two sons, Richard G. Sexton and wife, Jane of Tazewell, Va. and Mark D. Sexton of North Tazewell, Va.; three daughters, Susie J. Sayers, Rose M. McDaniel and husband, Gregory, all of Tazewell, Va., and Lisa M. Price and husband, Michael of Bishop, Va.; one brother, Robert Sexton of Baltimore, Md.; three sisters, Judy Johnson of Westminster, Md., Dixie Petrie, and Alice Dyer, both of Mount Airy, Md.; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Living Waters Church of God in Baptist Valley, Va. with the Rev. Leroy Holly officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Pallbearers will be Brandon Flohr, Richard Sexton, Mark Sexton, Christopher Price, Jeremiah Sexton, and James Counts. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Price and Gregory McDaniel.
The family will receive friends at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va., from 6-9 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2009.
