Maggie P. Mayhew
MORRISTOWN, Tenn. — Maggie P. Mayhew, 80, of Morristown, Tenn., died on December 17, 2009 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Maggie was born June 27, 1929 in Johnston City, Ill. and shortly thereafter moved to Gary, W.Va. where she resided until 1976 when she moved to Morristown, Tenn. to enjoy retirement.
Maggie spent a lifetime taking care of her family and giving to others. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 59 years and a loving and nurturing mother to her children and grandchildren. To her these were the most important roles she fulfilled in life. She never knew a stranger and had an amazing ability of making people feel special. She will be dearly missed and will live in our hearts forever.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Manda Pirslin; a son, Mark and her husband, Thomas.
Maggie is survived by her son, Randy and his wife Sandy of Teays Valley, W.Va.; and daughter, Dr. Susan Mayhew of Vansant, Va. She was the proud grandmother of three grandchildren, Brian Mayhew, Benjamin Mayhew and Hope Walker. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
A private family burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, W.Va. Monday December 21, 2009.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Morristown, Tenn. or the charity of your choice.
