BRAMWELL — Caroline E. Lewis, 100, of P.O. Box 381 Bramwell, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at her residence. She was born on February 27, 1909 in Bramwell, W.Va. to the late Charles C. Lambert and Mattie Patrick Lambert. She had been a resident of Bramwell for the entirety of her life and was of the Methodist faith. She was a housewife and worked as a piano teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Lewis; one daughter, Maggie Ellen; and two sons, Charles Lewis and Johnny Lewis.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce E. Shepard of North Tazewell, Va.; one special granddaughter, Sharon Farley of Bramwell, W.Va.; one special daughter-in-law, Marta Lewis of Cervo, N.M.; a niece she loved dearly, Ruth Gay French of Abbs Valley, Va.; one sister, Ruth Lewis of Bramwell, W.Va.; half sister, Okey Grim of Bluewell, W.Va.; half brother, Billy Lambert of Georgia; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
In accordance with Mrs. Lewis wishes, she was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
